#Top25of2015 GymJams #13: Dami Im. Superlove. #gymjam #burn

What We Said Then:

An upbeat, standout track from Dami Im’s debut album Heart Beats. Dami is an X Factor Australia winner, and with catchy songs and that voice, we will be hearing much more from her. Pop and EDM collide on Super Love.

What We Say Now:

Not only does Dami get us revved up for cardio with “Super Love”, she can also slay it with a gorgeous, simple piano version that will blow you away. One of our first GymJams in February, and still one of our favorites.

#Top25of2015 GymJams #14: RAC. Can’t Forget You. Featuring Chelsea Lankes. #gymjam #burn

What We Said Then:

RAC saved his best once-a-month single release for last song of the summer with “Can’t Forget You”. Featuring cool vocals by indie pop singer Chelsea Lankes, this fun, festive and upbeat track will propel you through the last few workouts of summer…and beyond!

What We Say Now:

If you read us or follow us, you know we heart recent Grammy nominee RAC. “Let Go” was our first posted GymJam! We’ve seen RAC live 6 times, and have everything Andre and company release. Yeah, we’re kinda superfans. As the official unofficial house band for us, we rely on that awesome indiepop that RAC creates (either as original music or skillfully remixed interpretations of other artists soon-to-be-hits) to get us through the gym, the day, the life.

RAC’s been featured countless times here. From our #3forFrday posts to his recent singles-only releases for “Back Of The Car”, “Can’t Forget You”, “3am” and the awesome “One House”, you can count on quality music from a truly independent artist.

#Top25of2015 GymJams #15. Rachel Platten. Fight Song. #gymjam #lift

What We Said Then:

“Fight Song” is a truly inspirational track that commands you to get up and fight. Fight yourself, your insecurities, your challenges AND challengers. Don’t stop, no excuses, get up and GO! This is your new gym anthem.

What We Say Now:

“Fight Song” was pretty ubiquitous since we featured it in May; radio play, video on constantly, even commercial syncs and ad campaigns. It became an anthem for so many people for so many reasons. It is a tough track to follow up on, but Rachel Platten did…quite ably…in September with “Stand By You”. This inspirational pop song debuted it’s official video in November. Her album “Wildfire” is coming in 2016. Expect even more from this promising new star.

#Top25of2015 GymJams #16: Big Data. The Business of Emotion. Featuring White Sea. #gymjam #lift

What We Said Then:

Awesome electropop from Big Data’s critically acclaimed ‘2.0’ album, available now. Features vocals from Morgan Kibby’s White Sea solo project.

What We Say Now:

We didn’t realize how much we loved this song, inspired by privacy and social media, until it was remixed by Viceroy as the “Happier Hour Remix” for a Taco Bell promotion (!). But seeing Big Data live on tour with Pink Feathers, Filous and RAC is what really sold us; they’re a dynamic band with great theatricality, stage presence and sound. Looking forward to what else they have up their sleeves.

#Top25of2015 GymJams #17. Ivy Levan. Best Damn Thing. #gymjam #lift

What We Said Then:

We think Ivy Levan is the best damn thing to happen to pop in a long time. We’ve been fans since “Biscuit” but really fell hard on “27 Club”. That voice…that production…that EVERYTHING! We’ll be first in line for her album ‘NO GOOD’ is out August 7. Until then, we have “The Best Damn Thing” to enjoy on repeat.

What We Say Now:

We still think Ivy Levan is the Best Damn Thing to happen to pop this year. Why this girl isn’t HUUUUUGGGGEE we can’t answer. She’s been featured 3 times on GymJams.club: In February for dance/cardio anthem “Biscuit”, June for the spectacular “27 Club” with Diplo, and August with “Best Damn Thing”. We’re hoping for a bigger 2016 for Ivy, and more hits!

#Top25of2015 GymJams #18: Kaskade. Whatever. Featuring KOLAJ. #gymjam #burn #lift

What We Said Then:

As Kaskade prepares to release his new album ‘Automatic’ on 9/25, we’re treated to “Whatever”, a new single from the project. It features one of our top Songs Of Summer 2015 winner, KOLAJ. This track leans in a very pop direction for Kaskade, ably helped by the gorgeous vocals from our new favorite band KOLAJ. If we’re a having a contest for Songs Of Fall 2015, here’s your winner.

What We Say Now:

This song just keeps getting better with every play since posted in September. You’ll probably do a double-take when you see it’s a Kaskade track, unlike most of his heavily EDM sounding hits. It’s unmistakable KOLAJ though. KOLAJ debuted on GymJams.club in July with “The Touch”, which quickly became of of our Songs Of The Summer 2015 tracks. They followed up with a cover of The Weeknd‘s “Can’t Feel My Face” in August. Something tells me we’ll be seeing more of KOLAJ in the future…both on our countdown and the charts!

#Top25of2015 GymJams #19: Walk The Moon. Shut Up & Dance. #gymjam #burn

What We Said Then:

Is there a better call to the dance floor than ‘shut up and dance’? Walk The Moon don’t think so. With this upbeat, syth-meets-guitars hard driving pop song, they’re still the same band that gave us 2012’s ‘Anna Sun’. Complete with an 80’s tongue-in-cheek video, you’ll be dancing the night away…or just wishing you were while on the treadmill.

What We Say Now:

This song was unstoppable for the first half of 2015. Even now we press repeat when it comes on our playlists. Walk The Moon appeared on GymJams.club twice; February for “Shut Up & Dance” and again in June with follow up “Different Colors“, from the album ‘Talking Is Hard’.

#Top25of2015 GymJams #20: Oh Wonder. Livewire. #gymjam #yoga

What We Said Then:

It’s been a while since our last Yoga post. No one better to bring us back than UK duo Oh Wonder and “Livewire”. Subtle, low key production with minimal distraction are just what you need for that yoga, stretch or cool down. Keep an eye out for more from Oh Wonder…they’re releasing one track a month until their album in September!

What We Say Now:

Our YOGA section is small but has some amazing tracks. Oh Wonder was featured twice this year on GymJams and in that section; in May for “Livewire”, and again in November for their first official video for “Without You”. This London duo’s album “Oh Wonder” is a beautiful piece of work.

#Top25of2015 GymJams: #21 Great Good Fine OK. Too Much To Handle. #gymjam #burn #indie

What We Said Then:

Great Good Fine OK follow up the kick-ass “You’re The One For Me” with “Too Much To Handle”. From their new EP ‘2M2H’, they bring a fresh angle to the indie electrpop world with falsettos and driving beats. Definitely a great addition to your music library and workout playlist!

What We Say Now:

These guys have had a great 2015. “Too Much To Handle” was posted in March, and it was only up from there. From appearing on The Chainsmokers amazing “Let You Go” in April, to their follow up “Not Going Home”, they’ve proved themselves. Their best video was in November…the absolutely brilliant, one-shot one-take treatment for “Take It Or Leave It”.

#Top25of2015 GymJams #23: Kip Moore. I’m To Blame. #gymjam #lift

What We Said Then:

A ‘take me as I am’ song with no apologies offered. If you’re living your life against the grain, good for you. Here’s your anthem. And PS-looks like Mr. Moore is no stranger to the gym!

What We Say Now:

Kip Moore’s album ‘Wild Ones’ is one of our favorite albums of the year. A great voice and great songs show that good music crossed all genres.
