#Top25of2016 GymJams #14: FRENSHIP & Emily Warren. Capsize. #GymJam #lift

What We Said Then:

Los Angeles band FRENSHIP and Gymjams.club favorite Emily Warren have created a definite nominee for Song Of The Summer 2016 in “Capsize”. The duo FRENSHIP is new to us, but we’ve long been fans of Emily Warren since her turn on The Chainsmokers & Tritonal’s “Until You Were Gone”.

What We Say Now:

This Top 40 hit on Billboard’s charts was just one of the amazing tracks on FRENSHIP’s EP, ‘TRUCE’. Emily Warren capped off a busy year with her appearance on Lost King’s “Phone Down”. All in all, 2 great artists were looking forward to eharing more from in 2017!

#Top25of2016 GymJams #15: Diplo & Sleepy Tom. Be Right There. #GymJam #burn

What We Said Then:

American R&B group Jade’s 1992 hit “Don’t Walk Away” gets a fresh reinterpretation for 2016. Mega DJ/producer Diplo (of Major Lazer fame) and Canadian DJ/producer Sleepy Tom create a floor filler for the club and the gym with “Be Right There”.

What We Say Now:

We’ve only crushed harder on this track since we became obsessed with it in January 2015. It was just the start of another great year for Diplo!

#Top25of2016 GymJams #16: Jonas Blue. Perfect Strangers. Featuring JP Cooper. #GymJam #burn

What We Said Then:

After his hit with a cover of Tracy Chapman’s “Fast Car”, British DJ and producer Jonas Blue returns with an original track. Tropical house meets island on “Perfect Strangers”, a fun track featuring vocals from British singer JP Cooper.

What We Say Now:

We know that “Fast Car” might have been bigger, but this track just packs an unexpected punch. Crisp, invigorating vocals from JP Cooper elevate an already upbeat track to a new level. While “Fast Car” might have pegged Jonas Blue as a one-hit wonder, “Perfect Strangers” made it clear this talent is here to stay.

#Top25Of2016 GymJams #17: Calvin Harris. This Is What You Came For. Featuring Rihanna. #GymJam #burn

What We Said Then:

Not exactly a new GymJam, but the official video debuted today. A strong effort from Taylor Swift’s next song subject, and Rihanna.

What We Say Now:

Calvin Harris can really do no wrong. After the bitter break up with a certain pop start let, he turned his focus back to music and we couldn’t be happier. With a little help from Rihanna, this was definitely a jam we’ll always remember 2016 for.

#Top25Of2016 GymJams #18: Elle King. America’s Sweetheart. #GymJam #burn #lift

What We Said Then:

Elle King and her pumping, positive-message anthem “America’s Sweetheart” is just the track you need for the gym, your run…or a night at the roller disco. Keeping the incredible voice and sass, this follow up to “Exes & Oh’s” will definitely motivate you. From her ‘Love Stuff’ album.

What We Say Now:

Trust us, we liked “Exes & Oh’s”…but we LOVE “America’s Sweetheart”! What a year Elle has had, including her stunning duet with Dierks Bentley on “Different For Girls”.

#Top25Of2016 GymJams #19: Vicetone. Bright Side. Featuring Cosmos & Creature. Two Friends Remix. #GymJam #burn #lift

What We Said Then:

Vicetone have a huge hit on their hands with “Bright Side”. With vocal help from Cosmos & Creature (who we fell in love with on Lost Kings‘ “Marathon”), and a stunningly epic remix by L.A. production duo Two Friends, this track checks all the boxes. Starts slow, but builds until…BOOM! Tropical house sounds, brilliant vocals and those beats! Both the remix and original version are available now.

What We Say Now:

We still get ALL the feels when we hear this song. Poppy, housey, tropicaly….or just plain awesome! However you want to describe it, it’s definitely a GymJam that gets us ready for one more set!

#Top25Of2016 GymJams #20: How To Dress Well. Lost Youth/Lost You. #GymJam #lift #indie

What We Said Then:

Chicago native Tom Krell is How To Dress Well. His 2014 album ‘What Is This Heart?’ was on many critics and music fans Top 10 lists that year. We’re eagerly awaiting a repeat performance on his upcoming album ‘Care’, out in September. In the meantime, the outstanding “Lost Youth/Lost You” is the lead single, and is available now.

What We Say Now:

After How To Dress Well released the triumphant ‘CARE’ album, he embarked on an intimate tour and released a few more stellar tracks, including “Can’t You Tell” and mesmerizing “They’ll take Everything You Have”. We’re hoping we don’t have to wait so long for his next album, but if we do…it’s worth it.

#Top25of2016 GymJams #21: Michael Brun. All I Ever Wanted. #GymJam #burn #XOXO

What We Said Then:

Taken from the Netflix Original Film and soundtrack to dance festival movie ‘XOXO’, Haitian DJ/producer Michael Brun’s “All I Ever Wanted” is pure energy in music form. Vocals, drops, breaks, beats…this is all we ever wanted!!!

What We Say Now:

Still loving this track, and the entire “XOXO” soundtrack. If you’re looking for a great mix of songs for pretty much any BPM and workout, that one’s a winner.

#Top25Of2016 GymJams #22: Fifth Harmony. Work From Home. Featuring Ty Dolla $ign. #GymJam #lift

What We Said Then:

We love us some Fifth Harmony, and happy to see some new music from them! “Work From Home” is from their forthcoming second album ‘7/27’. which signifies the date the group formed. Grab the single now, the album when it’s released in May!

What We Say Now:

The girls of Fifth Harmony really knew how to heat up a cold February New Music Friday! “Work From Home” became their biggest hit from their best-selling album yet. We sill love us some “Sledgehammer”, but this song comes in close for workouts with attitude.

#Top25Of2016 GymJams #23: Selena Gomez. Hands To Myself. #GymJam #lift

What We Said Then:

Selena Gomez‘ new track from ‘Revival’ is “Hands To Myself”. Part slinky R&B track, part club banger, it’s all GymJam. Best lyric? “Can’t keep my hands to myself/I know I could/but why would I want to?”.

What We Say Now:

WHY WASN’T THIS SONG BIGGER???!!! It got to #7, but this had ‘hit’ written all over it. We still like it for those workouts that we’re in half-heartedly; this song gives us just the jolt we need to get our game on.
